The Gang Intervention Program works specifically with individual gang members and youth at risk of being involved with a gang in Albuquerque neighborhoods.
The program's goal is to stop the violence and keep YDl's communities safe. The program serves 350 youth annually and incorporates both prevention and intervention/diversion activities.
The Gang Intervention Program uses innovative approaches to help youth learn and experience positive alternatives. Services provided include case management, individual/family counseling with a licensed therapist, recreational activities and participation in community events. A key program activity is the Si Se Puede Leadership Program, an 8-week leadership series offered four (4) times a year for gang involved youth.
