The Gang Intervention Program works specifically with individual gang members and youth at risk of being involved with a gang in Albuquerque neighborhoods.
The Gang Intervention Program uses innovative approaches to help youth learn and experience positive alternatives. Services provided include case management, , recreational activities and participation in community events. A key program activity is the Si Se Puede Leadership Program, an 8-session leadership series offered two times a year for gang involved youth.
We have served over 200 clients per year since 1978.
We provide these services: Case Management; Pro-social serices; Si Se Puede Leadership (life and social skills); Individual risk needs assessment.
Our Outcomes are the following:
279 youth served (Goal 276)
96% decided not to join a gang (Goal 50%) 94% decreased participation in violent and/or criminal activities (Goal 50%)
96% completed all goals on Individual Service Plan (Goal 50%)
86% improved relationships with family members and 88% improved relationships with peers (Goal 50%)
97% participated in Pro-social activities

75% participated in at least 2 Pro-social activities (Goal 90%)
Intervention youth:
77% decreased participation in criminal activities (Goal 75%)
71% decreased participation in violent activities (Goal 75%)
80% completed all goals on their Individual Service Plan (Goal 75%)
