Rapid Rehousing Program
Funded by the City of Albuquerque, the Rapid Rehousing Program is a service available for youth and young adults ages 16-24 that are able to live independently with ongoing Case Management assistance as they stabilize in their own apartment/home.
Community referrals are welcome, however, youth that are graduating from YDI’s Transitional Living programs are prioritized for services. YDI works with local apartment property managers to make apartments available for clients.
The Case Manager, as Supportive Housing Practitioner, provides education for clients on landlord-tenant rights; how to read a lease; responsibilities of living on one’s own, e.g., timely rent payments, security deposits. Emphasis is on assisting the client in obtaining and maintaining employment. Financial assistance for rent is gradually phased out as the youth is increasingly able to make rent payments on their own.
