Recently we hosted our final Education, Employment, and Training graduation ceremony for all of our participants that received their High School Equivalency Certificate. We had over 100 participants people successfully obtain their certificate from our Youth Build, Project Learn and Project Adelante programs.
Sadly, due to a loss of funding, our Project Learn program will be removed from our list of programs. Project Learn had been available to Albuquerque’s youth for over 30 years and we are deeply saddened to see it go.
However, YDI will not stop helping youth and young adults obtain their High School Equivalency. Youth Build and Project Adelante both offer High School Equivalency components and are still available to youth and young adults. Project Adelante is a GED/HiSET only for those age 21 and above. If you are younger than 21 and do not wish to take part in the 6-month commitment of YouthBuild, CNM have a program that you may find helpful.
Are you interested in help in preparing to take your GED or HiSET exams? It’s actually a very simple process. The first step is to complete a TABE test. This can be done at our Education, Employment, and Training location at 6306 Central Ave. SW. The process takes about 90 minutes. An 8h grade reading level or higher qualifies you for one of our GED/HiSet prep programs.
