Over the years, YDI has consistently helped families overcome challenging circumstances, particularly poverty. Many participants, including myself, have successfully completed programs or received services through YDI that have led to life-changing outcomes and success across various industries. As a young person, I fully embraced YDI’s employment program, and today, my journey has come full circle, I now serve as the Chief Executive Officer of Youth Development Inc. Access to YDI’s programs in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Education, Employment, and Training, and Prevention, Intervention, and Behavioral Health (PIBH) has transformed the lives of thousands. By empowering participants, YDI is not only changing individual lives but also shaping future generations. Often, the success of one generation means their children won’t need to rely on YDI services, creating a lasting, generational impact. This concept of generational impact refers to how events, actions, and policies shape multiple generations over time, influencing their attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors. Through its programs, YDI has fueled economic, social, and educational progress in low- and moderate-income (LMI) communities. YDI sees itself as a community developer, collaborating with partners to address income and educational inequality. By doing so, YDI strives to help LMI communities grow their incomes safely, gain economic security, and access greater opportunities.
