The YDI Family Resource Center will utilize an approach that is multi-generational, strengths-based, and family -centered in assisting communities of peer support for families to develop social connections that reduce isolation and stress. The FRC will provide assistance to families in overcoming issues of accessibility to systems of care and assist them in addressing their essential and basic needs. The FRC program is designed to:
- Enhance quality of life for participants and their families.
- Overcome specific barriers of care.
- Coordinate substance abuse care and other health care services.
- Develop an individual treatment plan.
- Set goals based on participants’ personal needs.
- Determine resources available for participants and their families and connect them for services.
HOW CAN WE HELP?
The FRC can provide a variety of services to meet the needs of families in their respective communities. Community partnerships are vital in assistance in offering services such as:
- Health care and nutrition. Cooking and nutrition classes
- Home visiting.
- Early childhood education/preschool. Child Car Seat distribution.
- Parenting programs for fathers, mothers, couples, and grandparents.
- Youth development. Tutoring
- Emergency assistance (food, clothing, rental and utility stipends).
- Adult education.
- Parent leadership development. Parenting Classes.
- Job readiness and life skills.
- Baby formula Distribution.
- Notary Public services.
- Computer Lab
