WIOA Youth – Northern Region
As the Northern Area Local Workforce Development (NALWDB) designated service provider, YDI operates the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act Youth program (WIOA Youth) in the Northern Region of New Mexico, specifically in Cibola, Colfax, Los Alamos, McKinley, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Juan, San Miguel, Santa Fe, and Taos counties. WIOA Youth serves youth aged 14-24 via 14 Elements, specifically focused on overcoming barriers impacting education, career readiness, and sustainable employment.
YDI staff are located at America’s Job Centers (AJCs) throughout the Northern Region, but also provide in-person and virtual services in areas beyond those AJC locations. YDI collaborates with other WIOA providers and youth stakeholders, including, but not limited to, New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NMDWS), WIOA Adult/DW, Job Corps, Adult Basic Education (ABE), TANF, and many more.
WIOA Youth operates year-round, providing skills training and work experience opportunities to in-school youth and out-of-school youth aged 14-24. In addition to skills training and work experience, we assist with drop-out prevention, alternative education, dropout recovery, adult mentoring, leadership, guidance and counseling, financial literacy, entrepreneurial skills, labor market information, preparation/transition to post-secondary education, and supportive services. Upon completion of the program, youth receive 12 months of follow-up services to support continued growth and success.
